Xeonova – more formally referred to as Hefei Xingneng Xuanguang Technology Co., Ltd. (合肥星能玄光科技有限责任公司) – was founded in March 2024 by University of Science and Technology of China professor Sun Xuan. The brand name “Xeonova” is derived from the registered Chinese name 星能玄光 that translates literally as “Star Energy Xuanlight.”
The company seeks to build on an “advanced field-reversed mirror (FRM)” pathway that Professor Sun developed in 2013 and has continued refining and validating since.
