Avalanche Energy – founded in 2018 and based in Tukwila, WA –  is developing compact, modular fusion systems built around its Orbitron micro-fusion reactor concept. The company aims to produce small, high-energy-density fusion units that can be combined in modular arrays for a wide range of power applications. Its approach emphasises rapid design and testing cycles, enabling accelerated development compared with traditional large-scale fusion devices.

In parallel, Avalanche is establishing FusionWERX, a facility intended to support the study of fusion technologies and the production of radioisotopes, while also providing a testing environment for fusion components and systems. The combined strategy is focused on advancing small-scale fusion systems and related technologies as steps toward broader commercial deployment.
