Zap Energy secures $5m from DOE’s Milestone-Based Fusion Development Program

The U.S. Department of Energy has allocated $46 million to eight companies for a fusion pilot plant. This funding, part of the 'Milestone-Based Fusion Development Program', aims to address challenges to commercialize fusion energy. It covers 18 months initially, with potential for up to five years based on progress. The goal is to achieve commercially deployable fusion by 2024.
