Commonwealth Fusion Systems closes Series A raising $115m

Commonwealth Fusion Systems has secured $115 million in funding for its Series A round, attracting new investors such as Future Ventures and Khosla Ventures. Teaming up with MIT's Plasma Science and Fusion Center, the company aims to develop the first net energy gain fusion system and advance magnet technology for smaller, cost-effective tokamaks. This funding will drive the demonstration of their magnet technology at full scale. SPARC, planned for 2025, is a crucial step towards achieving commercially viable fusion power.
