UKAEA awards £3.1m of contracts to fusion

Eighteen organizations have secured contracts with the UKAEA for feasibility studies aimed at advancing fusion energy commercialization. The contracts, worth £50,000 to £200,000, are funded by the Fusion Industry Programme. Launched in 2021, the FIP aims to drive economic growth through technology development and skill enhancement for domestic and global fusion programs, receiving £42.1 million from a £484 million government research support package.
