HHMAX – founded in 2022 and based in Chengdu, China – is seeking to develop an innovative high-power, field-reversed configuration nuclear fusion reactor. It is the first Chinese company to pursue this path to fusion power.

HHMAX has established robust collaborations with China’s leading academic and research institutions, including the Southwestern Institute of Physics (SWIP), with whom they have signed a technical cooperation agreement and partnerships with the Institute of Plasma Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP), the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), and Tsinghua University.

HHMAX also signed strategic cooperation agreements with three key commercial partners. Chengdu Guoguang Electric Co., Ltd. will collaborate on fusion device vacuum systems, Chengdu Xuguang Electronics Co., Ltd. will contribute intelligent control and rapid switching technologies, and Shenzhen Prince New Materials Co., Ltd. will provide specialized power supply systems.
