Fuse Energy Technologies – based in San Leandro, California – is developing advanced pulsed-power fusion systems with an initial focus on providing high-specification nuclear effects testing and neutron sources while progressing toward commercial fusion energy. The company’s work centres on building and firing pulsed-power hardware such as the TITAN driver, advancing its capabilities in repetitive ignition and high-power output to support both radiation testing services and future fusion generator development.

Fuse’s roadmap includes the design of the Apeiron I fusion plant, a pulsed-power facility intended to produce more energy output than input, demonstrating scalable fusion engineering with a target output around 1 GJ, and exploring applications such as actinide waste treatment and energy generation.

Fuse has established collaborations with national laboratories, including a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with Sandia National Laboratories, to accelerate development of its pulsed-power and fusion technologies, and continues to expand its facility and experimental milestones in support of its long-term fusion energy goals.
