Electric Fusion Systems, Inc (EFS) was found in 2020. The company aims to harness fusion energy using an aneutronic proton-lithium Light Element Electric Fusion (LEEF) process. LEEF overcomes key challenges in traditional fusion by leveraging quantum mechanical effects to lower the Coulomb barrier in fusion reactions.

EFS aims to create direct electrical-power fusion modules the size of carry-on luggage that are portable and can be scaled to varied electric power applications, with a prototype capable of kilowatt power output already developed.
