Tokamak Energy, founded in 2009 and based in Oxfordshire, England, is a fusion energy company developing technologies focused on achieving commercially viable fusion power. Created as a spin-off from the UK Atomic Energy Authority, the company specialises in compact spherical tokamaks and high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets.

Tokamak Energy’s  ST40 high-field compact spherical tokamak is the most advanced of its kind. Tokamak Energy also designed, built and operates Demo4, a world-first complete set of HTS magnets in a spherical tokamak configuration to replicate fusion energy power plant forces. The company’s ongoing work continues to advance the physics and technology basis towards delivering commercial fusion.
